This is an odd one. In error I order a new system for a client and I missed that is was a Home version of Win 10 and I did not discover it until I tried adding it to the domain with the essentials connector and it ran but when I tried to logon with domain credentials it of course failed.

Yep bonehead move, so anyway I went to the client told him it was nice seeing him today and that I had screwed up and I would see him in a week with the correct OS. Ok now a week later I am adding the replacement system and the connector reports that a computer with the same name is a member of the domain. See the screen capture below.

Has anyone seen this before? Microsoft does not allow Windows Home editions to join domains because those home users won’t be connecting to any type of domain. I suspect that running the connector is what’s done it. It’s put info into the AD without checking whether the system can actually connect. Thanks for the info Kevin!
