Like many of your peers, you set out from your home to become the next Pokemon Master. This adventure tasks you with exploring the world, capturing small monsters known as Pokemon in the wild, and training your team in order to take down elite Pokemon Gym Leaders around Kanto.

As you explore, you’ll randomly encounter other Pokemon in the wild, which you can weaken and add to your team.

As you battle these wild Pokemon and other Pokemon trainers, your party of Pokemon will earn experience and level up, occasionally evolving into brand new forms.

Every Pokemon in the game is categorized by its elemental type, including water, fire, electric, and more. This determines the list of moves your Pokemon can use in battle, and different elemental types are stronger against others. For example, a fire-type Pokemon like Charmander can use fire-based attacks, which will tear through grass-type Pokemon.
